You want some beautiful images that capture your children’s personality and your love and connection with each other.

You love the idea of a photoshoot with your family but you’re not sure how this works. See the steps below to help you.

I can’t wait to meet you!

Jo xox

Every photoshoot is different and unique to you, so the first thing I will do is find out more about what you would like from your session. We can do this on the phone or by email.

We will also chat about location, outfits and which products you will want for your home from frames, albums to digital images.

Your photo session is very important to me and I want you to get the best out of it. Once you have booked a session, you’ll also receive a welcome guide packed with information and advice.

On the day of your photo shoot, we will meet in the location that we discussed prior to the session.

You may be feeling nervous or awkward at this point but this is perfectly normal. I’m very relaxed and have a gentle nature so you’ll soon forget about the camera.

Photo shoots take place outside. Children can run wild, play at being pirates, find their inner princess, dances with the fairies, turn sticks into magic wands and kick leaves. We might even take a walk and stop on the way for some gentle posing but mainly I want to capture your family interacting, the quiet in-between moments and the fun you have with each other. This is your time to be together.

After your photoshoot, I will hand edit your images – please allow 2 weeks for this.

All images will be uploaded to a gallery for you to choose your favourites. If you want to add extra products at this time you are welcome.

Jo photographed our family for the first time last month and we really hope it won’t be the last! Not only was the experience enjoyable & relaxed Jo managed to take some fantastic pictures. Jo is an outstanding photographer who gets the best out of both parents & children alike – a rare talent.

Frames, albums + prints
  • I only use the best British professional suppliers for my albums and frames.
  • As all products are handcrafted it can take 3-4 weeks to be crafted and delivered.
  • Your images will be beautifully packaged and either picked up here or delivered securely to your home.
  • Yay! You now have a lifetime of memories to cherish forever.
Location and Best time of day

The best time of day for photoshoots is either first thing in the morning or 2 hours before dusk. The light is softer, more flattering and often locations are quieter too. The best location is the one that works for your family. We can go to the beach, have a campfire, use your camper van, enjoy a picnic, walk in the woods – the possibilities are endless.

What if my child plays up?

Children are as unpredictable as the weather! I have two of my own so I really do understand. As my photoshoots are based on fun and play, hopefully, your children will be suitably distracted and will enjoy the photo session. I have plenty of patience and I am used to dealing with children. I want you to be happy with your photo session. Some photo shoots take 1 hour and others can take two hours. I work at your families pace. I want you to come away with images you love.

What to wear at the photoshoot?

Alongside the location, styling your families clothes for your session is very important.  The right clothes can create a beautiful mood, whether it’s whimsical, fun, or dreamy or from another era. If you not sure, then please don’t worry as I can help you every step of the way.

I also have a Pinterest board of ideas to help you with colours: Spring/Summer photoshoots and Autumn/Winter photoshoots

What if it rains?

British weather is unpredictable, so if it’s a light drizzle we may brave it and look for breaks in the weather but if it is torrential rain and it will spoil your photos or make everyone miserable then we will reschedule a new date. When booking keep an extra day in the month just in case!
