You want some beautiful images that capture your horse’s personality and your love and friendship for each other.

You love the idea of a photo shoot with your horse but you’re not sure how this works. See the steps below to help you.

I can’t wait to meet you!

Jo xox

Hampshire equine photographer

Every photoshoot is different and unique to you, so the first thing I will do is find out more about what you would like from your session. We can do this by email or by phone.

We will also chat about location, outfits and which products you will want for your home from frames, albums to digital images.

Your photo session is very important to me and I want you to get the best out of it. Once you have booked a session, you’ll also receive a welcome guide packed with information and advice.

Equine photoshoot Wiltshire

On the day I will arrive either at your yard or a location that we discussed. As we walk around looking at locations we can get to know each other. This is also a great time to look at your outfits.

It is perfectly normal to be nervous but after a while, you’ll forget about the camera as you’ll be having so much fun. I’m very relaxed and have a gentle nature so we’ll get along just fine.

I will gently guide you into poses and hopefully your horse will follow suit but please don’t worry if they don’t like something or he/she misbehaves – it’s very normal – we can adapt to the situation and move on to the next spot. Most of all enjoy spending this time with your best friend and I’ll capture this time of you together.

After your photoshoot, I will hand edit your images – please allow 2 weeks for this.

All images will be uploaded to a gallery for you to choose your favourites depending on what collection you went for.

If you want to add extra products at this time you are welcome.

Thank you Jo for such beautiful photos of Izzy and Bean. You have such a talent for capturing their lovely friendship and we are simply thrilled with our photographs.

Frames, albums + prints
  • I only use the best British professional suppliers for my albums and frames.
  • As all products are handcrafted it can take 3-4 weeks to be crafted and delivered.
  • Your images will be beautifully packaged and either picked up here or delivered securely to your home.
  • Yay! You now have a lifetime of memories to cherish forever.
I have more than one horse and can I bring the family?

Of course, you can have all your horses and children and the rest of the family including your dog. Just let me know when you book your session, so we can allocate more time for the photoshoot.

What to wear at the photoshoot?

The most important thing is to be comfortable and confident in what you are wearing. I recommend 2-3 outfit changes. Wear trousers or a skirt, a pretty shirt, blazer or jacket, jeans, long boots. Floaty and glamorous dresses look fab too. (Try and avoid really bright colours and logos)

I will discuss clothing ideas with you prior to the shoot and can offer styling advice on the day too. Have a look through my What to wear guides for inspiration and ideas.

What if it rains?

British weather is unpredictable, so if it’s a light drizzle we may brave it and look for breaks in the weather but if it is torrential rain and it will spoil your photos or make everyone miserable then we will reschedule a new date. When booking keep an extra day in the month just in case!
