Refresh those photos
Look, I know you had professional photographs taken when you started your business. But it’s not a “one and done” kind of thing. Because, as the face of your business and brand, you’re going to change. Your style, your appearance, even who you are, your values and the way you run your business. They all change over time.
And don’t even get me started on fashion! Remember those shoulder pad power poses of the 80s and early 90s? The clothing styles, hair and makeup, even the way those photographs were taken and edited, all age an image.
So, put down the headshot you’ve been using for the last decade. Let people see who you are now. Fresh, modern photos will do more for you than the dusty old photo you’ve been using since you started your business even if you do look a bit older now. People want to see who you are right now, and that’s ok!

Not just a headshot
Branding photography isn’t only about putting you in a studio with a white backdrop and capturing your smiling face in a couple of well-posed shots. If you want to increase your visibility, you need to let people see beneath the surface. It’s about showing what you do and who you are, as well as what you look like.
A branding shoot incorporates behind-the-scenes photos of you at work, in your workspace, doing your thing and showing your products, if you have them. And then, yes, getting some lovely headshots is all part of that.
Branding photos increase your visibility because high quality, consistently edited photographs elevate your brand, your website, socials and marketing materials. A strong, professional image shows you take your business seriously. And that, in turn, shows people that you’re willing to invest in yourself, which reassures them that it’s then ok for them to invest in you!

An antidote to stock photos
The demand to produce regular, consistent content has shot up in recent years. With blogging, social media, websites and all other manner of marketing platforms in use by many small businesses now, there’s a real need for good quality images. And not everyone is a photographer!
I won’t lie. There are some pretty fantastic stock imagery sites out there now, providing free images for people to download and use to promote their business. But I often see the same photos over and over again on my feeds. So, how do you make yourself stand out from all that?
A branding shoot will give you those professional-quality photos you need. They’ll match your brand by incorporating your brand colours and style, and no one else will have them. I can’t think of a better way to stand out from the sea of sameness, can you?
That personal, unique touch will help you to shine through in the visibility stakes because your photos will be totally different from everyone else.
And a branding shoot with me will give you months of image content to use. You’ll have photos that will help you plan your social media strategy and give you prompts about what to write about. Because we all know that social media is a huge factor in pushing the visibility of your business right to the top!
